I'm hearing the theme from 2001

Alright, so it's not quite the neverending shot of that spaceship, but I'm pretty sure it's more wool than has ever been on my drying racks all at once. What you see, from back to front: some 2-ply aran weight yarn, which I'm very excited about, a bunch of dyed corriedale, some spun corriedale, and a pile of dyed BFL. All drying a heck of a lot faster outside, now that it isn't raining 24/7 and hovering around zero degrees, than it would inside. I'm out of space, though, so if I manage to get any more yarn made and washed today, some of that fiber will have to be relocated into my "drying closet," aka my guest bathroom which has a lovely powerful heater and a fan.

We're in the soup now. I have a daily quota of at least 10 skeins of yarn to be spun every day for the next 7 days, and that still won't manage to get everything spun and ready. I have had my first experience of sitting down at my wheel and saying to myself, oh no, not more spinning. I promised myself I'd pull back if I ever got to that point, but this is a special time, so I'm just trying to put my head down and meet the goal.

I have a good amount of spinning-entertainment on hand. I've been watching my episodes of Torchwood Season 2 (and we won't talk about how I acquired these eps, which are not being broadcast in Canada yet), I plan to maybe finish of my re-watch of Buffy Season 7 (on re-watching, the season held together a little better than it seemed to at first), and I'm listening to a lot of music. The new Radiohead album is on constant-repeat, and I'm finding that 'vintage' UK punk makes for a rather good spinning rhythm.

My daughter is home today and tomorrow, though, so I expect I'll be watching more Boohbah than I normally would on my own.

Oh! That's so lovely. Season 2 of Torchwood is good. We're currently watching season 3. We won't talk about how that occurred at my house either. :) I even downloaded a couple of Torchwood short stories, 2 hours or so, from Audible.com that are read by cast members. Haven't listened yet, but kind of cool in a geeky kind of way.

Er, Season 3 hasn't been either confirmed or filmed yet. Although there *is* quite a lot of fanfic...

Dude you have to show up at my booth when darkangel (her Etsy name) is there -- turns out she's also a major Torchwood fangirl, and local, and will be stopping by to fondle some fiber. We ought to coordinate.

Audio books are win; which TW titles have you listened to, and are they worth it?

That is a seriously cool sight! All that yarn. I stumbled onto your ravelry site and now I am bookmarking you!! I love the thought of buying yarn from a fellow Canadian.

Sounds like there willbe a LOT of yarn adorning your booth at fibrefest! Maybe I'll have to find my way out to abbots ford next weekend ;P

Yep, hubby informs me that I'm on crack. I keep getting my season counts for Dr Who and Torchwood mixed up. Doh! I was so much smarter when I was younger. Have you seen the knitted items for TW/Dr Who on Ravelry? There was a Face of Boe, a Dr, and a Cassandra. I was thinking of knitting Cassandra for my desk at work.

I'm going to start listening to the TW short stories on the train to work this week so will get back to you on that. I'll bring my pod and you can have a listen on Friday if you like. I plan on being there first thing in the morning. I'll be the weirdo outside pressing my face against the door and muttering "Open open open!". :)

Sadly (happily?), the statement "I'll be the weirdo outside pressing my face against the door and muttering "Open open open!"" isn't actually enough for me to distinguish you from the crowd...

My mom is going to be with me on Friday, and she's not at all a handcrafter, and she's never really seen me in my "world" of yarniness before. I have no idea what she's going to make of the scene. The people waiting patiently in the early morning -- she won't be expecting that.

I will definitely be showing up on Friday to feel up some fibre and denude your booth. Who knows, I may even bring some entertainment. As long as I get my Ianto. ^_^

I'm trying to think of a way to introduce myself so that you'll know me, but I'm not sure how that'll be. I don't think I can manage a Captain Jack "hello". And you'd probably be freaked out by that.

I thought I heard a rumor that series 3 was confirmed? I think Gareth confirmed in in an interview. But I haven't been able to find the information on BBC at all.

I'm not sure whether S3 is officially confirmed, but Burn Gorman leaked in this interview: http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=147498

I have bad news about my attempted re-dye of the colourway "Ianto" -- it didn't work out. It's...intriguing, but it's not at all like it was before. Somehow, an invisible-when-cold element of dark blue popped into existence when the dye was cooked, so the roving is shades of cool dark purple, charcoal, and very dark violet. I'm going to call it "Mood Disorder."

If I'm feeling very ambitious in the AM, I may try again with my one remaining pound of Corriedale... but I've dyed for the last 4 straight work days, and the smell of hot vinegar is starting to really turn my stomach.
